Benchmarking Initiative

Our member schools continually work to find savings wherever possible while maintaining educational quality. Beyond these efforts, we have collaborated with YU’s Institute for University-School Partnership to benchmark the cost base and revenue drivers of our schools and have identified opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation. Benchmarking, the process of comparing one’s performance metrics to the metrics of industry peers and industry leading practitioners, is widely utilized in the private sector, but this is the first time it has been applied across an entire network of day schools. To date, our member schools have achieved over $2.5 million in cost savings using this model.

Moving forward, each school has committed to achieve a further 10% reduction in cost over the next three years. Given 2010-2011 levels of financial aid, a 10% reduction in costs would be equivalent to a 40% increase in financial aid funds or a 75% increase in annual fundraising!
