Shouldn’t I be supporting a school directly?

NNJKIDS is not meant to replace individual donations to your school of choice. The goal is to encourage everyone to participate in a communal fund that will help the community at large and will begin to reformulate the model of funding day school education.

Even if you are only able to make a small contribution to the communal fund, giving at any level declares the principle of kol yisrael areivim zeh l’zeh – that we are all responsible for one another. All the schools in the community were involved in creating NNJKIDS and continue to support it fully, as do the rabbis and communal organizations.

You should absolutely donate directly to your school, but also contribute what you can to make NNJKIDS a success. The more successful NNJKIDS is, the more we will be able to help the community, expand support and ensure sustainability.
